President Barack Obama has chosen a candidate other than Elizabeth Warren as director of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, according to a person briefed on the matter.
The president’s choice is a person who already works at the consumer agency, the person said today. Obama may make the nomination as soon as next week, another person briefed on the administration’s plans said.
The people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the process isn’t public, didn’t give the name of the choice.
As if I needed any more proof of who our esteemed President is really looking out for. Getting rid of the most vocal protector of consumer rights for everyday Americans speaks volumes.
OMFG WTF? That is the last straw. Not getting my vote no matter what. That did it.
Really? Really? Is there anyone in this country more qualified than Elizabeth Warren to head this thing up? She’s not willing to jump into anyone’s pocket, so he went and found someone who is.
Increasingly apparent is that the American politics are defined by two parties: the right and the center. There is no established American left anymore. Nothing for younger generations (hello) to grab on to, to find ideological resonance, and to look for leadership. There is a centrist party, and there is a right wing party. There is no American left.
