One More Post About “It Can’t Happen Here”

It turns out that novel about a fascist dictatorship setting up shop in the US It Can’t Happen Here (which is amazing) was adapted for television in the eighties. NBC thought the original script was too smart for American audiences, so they had it re-written to feature man-eating aliens. They named the adaptation V. As in, the series that they recently tried to resurrect. Crazy, huh?

Furthermore, the phrase “man-eating aliens” is radically different from “man eating aliens”, showing the importance of a well placed hyphen. Nevertheless, I would absolutely watch a show about man eating aliens.
